It's remarkable what a few ingredients can become. Paint and paper become something that moves us. Words and melody become music that stays with us for years. There is similar to what is happening in the Lord's Prayer. Jesus gathers threads woven through centuries of Scripture and brings them together into something extraordinary.

This prayer begins with "Our Father" who the Psalms describe as Father of the fatherless. The daily bread we ask for echoes Israel's daily dependence on manna in the wilderness. The forgiveness we seek carries the weight of Psalm 51's cry, "cleanse me from my sin!" Every part of this prayer finds its source in what God shown us, taught us, and done for us. It is then gathered, woven together, and given back to us as a wonderful gift.

This Sunday we're at the center of the Sermon on the Mount and right at its heart. Join us as we take a close look at the Lord's Prayer together. It's more than a familiar recitation. It's an invitation.
