2 Peter 1:3-4
Called, Equipped, and Encouraged

This week's sermon was from 2 Peter 1:3-4, exploring the truths of our calling in Christ, the equipping we receive through His divine power, and the encouragement we find in His promises. In knowing Jesus, we have all that we need for life and godliness, even amidst life's challenges.

1. We are called to follow Christ: Just as Jesus called the Samaritan woman despite her background, He intentionally calls each of us out of darkness into His marvelous light.

2. We are equipped for all things: Through Christ's divine power, we have been granted everything we need for life and godliness. When we feel inadequate, we can rest in the sufficiency of God.

3. We are encouraged through difficulty: God's promises sustain us through life's struggles, reminding us that we are partakers of the divine nature.

As we navigate the complexities of life this week, let's remember that we are not alone. We have been called, equipped, and encouraged by our loving Savior. May we lean into the knowledge of Christ and experience the transformative power of His promises in our daily lives.

"Very practically I think this means we must day by day go to the Word of God and search for great promises. Fix one or two in your mind and hold them there before you all day. And use them to overcome temptation to sin and to incite you to daring acts of righteousness and love.” (John Piper)
